I love original and unique ideas that promote themselves. Creating content that spreads is art and you are unable to generate dozens of unique and catchy ideas weekly: sometimes a person creates something truly unique once in a lifetime. Still, there are some tactics behind crafting something that becomes viral. One such tactic is making […]
Link Building Tips by Ann Smarty
Google has made a bit of a mess. Continuous changes in their algorithm have been met with more spam in spite of their efforts. Bots and scrapers, as well as keyword stuffers, remain a problem no matter how hard they struggle against them. Their updates just aren’t working to keep the baddies at bay.
Unfortunately, it is the good guys who suffer. The response by Google to become more aggressive in their anti-linking targets have swept up those who have been using link building responsibly, without cutting out those who were trying to exploit the system. Now the company has gone so far as to suggest no-follows on literally every link, making the bold claim that link building is effectively dead.
But content creators know better. Linking is a part of both offering proper credit to the original source of information, and connecting our readers to other pages that they will find beneficial. In the end, we are writing for them, not for search engines. Ranking is a byproduct of properly creating that content, and links are a natural part of the process.
Anyone who has gotten a message, polite or threatening, about no-following or removing a link knows the pain in the side the whole issue has become. It is completely changing an industry without clear alternatives in place.
Just thinking about it is enough to give anyone a headache. Which is why we want to navigate the treacherous waters for you, and make it a little bit easier. In this section you will not only find the latest news relating to backlinking, but what it means for you and your content. You will also find tips for building links that are strong, relevant, and (hopefully) safe from the powerwashing being conducted on Google.

The Internet is changing rapidly. What seemed to work fine only a few months ago, can now have no effect at all. Thus the skills of an SEO expert cannot be limited to tactics which proved to work for years. Continuous learning and modifying your strategies is a key to a successful SEO campaign. Low […]
4 Advanced Search Commands For Smart Webmasters
I am sure that most of you already know and use the following search operators when planning an SEO campaign. Google To Devalue Links?
By the recent PR crackdown Google has made it quite clear that paid links can harm both the publisher’s and advertiser’s websites. They can negatively impact a site’s PR and ranking in SERP. But the problem is that paid links are not so easy to identify. If done carefully they may remain invisible even to […]
